Within the Inner City lies the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, a royal retreat dating to the 15th century, and the centuries-old stone Maiden Tower, which dominates the city skyline.

Baku to Sheki. Night stay at Sheki

After breakfast drive to Sheki.
Sheki is a city in north-western Azerbaijan. It is located in the southern part of the Greater Caucasus mountain range, 240 Km from Baku. The centre of the city and the Palace of Sheki Khans were inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2019 because of their unique architecture and history as an important trading centre along the Silk Road.

Sheki to Baku via Gabala and Gobustan

  • Enroute to Gabala city(also known as Qabala)

Gabala is one of the most beautiful parts of Azerbaijan with a rich and ancient history. Sometime in the past (for 600 years) this city (Qabala) was the capital of Caucasian Albania.

Qbustan is best known for being the home to the famous rock petroglyphs. The area has been settled since the 8th millennium BC. It is known for hosting thousands of rock engravings spread over 100 square km depicting hunting scenes, people, ships, constellations and animals. Its oldest petroglyphs date from the 12th century BC. In 2007, UNESCO included the ‘Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape’ in the World Heritage list.Route back to Baku city; overnight in the hotel.

The Temple of Eternal Fire – Ateshgah – is an authentic Azerbaijani exotic. It is well-known practically all over the world. It is located 30 km from the centre of Baku in the suburb of Surakhany. This territory is known for such unique natural phenomenon as burning natural gas outlets (underground gas coming onto surface contacts oxygen and lights up). YanarDag (Azerbaijani: YanaDağ, meaning “burning mountain”) is a natural gas fire which blazes continuously on a hillside on the Absheron Peninsula on the Caspian Sea near Baku.

Baku Old city trip & Departure

  • After breakfast proceed to Baku old city trip, Highland Park; Flame Towers-the tallest skyscraper in Baku
  • Walking through Baku Boulevard; City tour, walking sightseeing tour of the “Inner City”, Visiting souvenir shop, carpets, antique shops and workshops of local handicrafts, Maiden Tower (XII century), Juma Mosque (XII century), Shirvanshah Palace (XV century).
  • Walking through Baku Boulevard
  • Walk through Nizami Street (Shopping Street).
  • After dinner drop at airport (22.00) for onward destination.
